After-Hours Drop Off
Sometimes auto repair needs arise long after most auto repair shops have closed (most auto repair shops close at 6 pm). With after-hours drop off services, you leave your car at the mechanics shop for repair even if the shop has closed. You simply fill out an envelope, put in your keys, and drop it in a drop box. The auto shop will only contact you when your car is ready or when they need additional information. At Tyler's Auto Repair, we value your convenience and that is why we offer after-hours drop off services. A completed Drop-Off Form will help the mechanic diagnose any problems. Even if we have closed, you just drop-off your vehicle at our shop and our mechanics will work on it and contact you when it is ready.

Fleet Maintenance and Repair
As a fleet owner, you have to do all it takes to keep the fleet on the road. When any vehicle is out of service, both revenue and your reputation as a reliable business are at risk. To make sure your fleet of trucks/vehicles is always on the road, partner with a professional auto shop. At Tyler's Auto Repair, we can manage your fleet repairs and maintenance. We make sure servicing is up to date and up to standards. We handle all aspects of fleet repairs and maintenance.

Fuel Efficiency
The experts at Tyler's Auto Repair can inspect your vehicle and perform services that can help it operate at peak performance and help improve fuel efficiency and overall fuel economy. These inspections and services may include items such as:

  • Change engine oil, using the recommended grade of motor oil
  • Check and change your air filter
  • Inspect and, if necessary, replace a clogged fuel filter
  • Adjust tire pressure to manufacturer-recommended specs
  • Inspect/clean the intake system
  • Inspect/replace emissions components and/or a faulty oxygen sensor
  • Inspect brakes for proper adjustment
  • Inspect power steering system and perform a steering alignment, if necessary
  • Align front suspension
  • Clean or replace dirty or malfunctioning fuel injectors
  • Inspect/replace spark plugs and spark plug wires
  • Check exhaust for clogged catalytic converter
  • Examine the exhaust gas recirculation system

Hubs, Seals, Studs, & Nuts
A wheel hub motor, also referred to as a wheel motor, is an electric motor incorporated into the wheel hub and drives it directly. You can have a safer and smoother ride today by replacing your warped and worn out wheel hubs. Let Tyler's Auto Repair replace your worn out hubs today.

Properly working seals provide oil and grease sealing - offering enhanced performance in a wide range of temperatures and environments. Worn out or warped seals allow external contaminants to enter the bearing unit or let lubricant escape from the unit. This ultimately leads to premature failure of the bearing unit. To keep out contamination and retain lubricant in the bearings, have the seals replaced with new ones. To have the seals replaced by experts, contact or visit Tyler's Auto Repair today.

Studs are the threaded fasteners that hold on the wheels of your truck. The wheel studs are permanently mounted on the wheel hub through the brake disk or brake drum. To secure the wheel, nuts (lug nuts) are fastened over the stud. Stripped wheel studs can be quite dangerous. Damaged wheel studs should be replaced with new ones immediately. To have your truck's wheel studs replaced with high quality ones, call 805-497-4019 or visit Tyler's Auto Repair today.

A wheel nut or lug nut is a fastener for securing a wheel on the hub. A set of lug nuts are used to secure a wheel to the threaded wheel studs (which are fixed to a wheel hub). Worn out nuts means one thing - the wheel is not fixed securely on the vehicle which puts the vehicle at the risk of rolling over. To have your truck's wheels securely fastened to the hub, contact or visit Tyler's Auto Repair in Thousand Oaks, CA 91360 today.

Most Extended Warranties Accepted
An extended warranty (also known as a service contract) can provide peace of mind to most car buyers. The warranty (or service contract) kicks in after the usual manufacturer warranty has expired. An extended warranty covers major breakdowns and evens out the cost of repairs. Unfortunately, not all auto repair shops accept extended warranties. At Tyler's Auto Repair in Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, we accept most extended warranties. We let you use the service contract to save on auto repair costs.

Pre-Purchase Inspections
Are you planning to buy a new car? Don't take chances. Be confident about the car you are buying. Have pre-purchase inspections performed on the vehicle. Pre-purchase inspections involve examining the car's condition to ensure it is worth buying. At Tyler's Auto Repair, we have pre-purchase inspection experts - mechanics who will scrutinize any car, make, and model and allow you to make an informed decision. Pre-purchase inspections will definitely give you peace of mind when you buy your next used car.

Pre-Trip Inspection
A pre-trip check up can make the difference between a safe trip and one that ends in a tragedy. The inspection aims at looking for possible defects and potential mechanical problems that could cause disaster. Before embarking on a trip you should make sure your car is fully inspected for safety. You can rely on the experts at Tyler's Auto Repair. We have pre-trip inspection experts who are able to conduct safety inspections on any car, make, and model. Our experts are dedicated to ensuring you have a safe trip. Simply drop by or give us a call at 805-497-4019.

Wheel Bearings
Wheel bearings are found inside of wheels, allowing the wheels to spin freely, and are connected to the brake system. They can become worn over time, causing a vibrating suspension and noisy rubbing as the car is driven. If they break completely, the vehicle will become very difficult to control and unsafe to drive. Replacement interval for wheel bearings varies greatly, but they should be checked for leaks and wear periodically. Tyler's Auto Repair can make sure that your bearings are in good shape and let you know if they need replacement.

What Our Customers Are Saying

Best repair shop in town. Gary diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes. Dealership told me I would have to leave the vehicle for 3 hours. The dealership's high pressure Service Manager telling me it would probably be $800-$900. Tyler's fixed the simple problem for only $229!! Runs perfect now! Thanks Gary! I would give them a DEFINITE recommend!

I won't take my vehicles anywhere else for service and repairs. The best and most honest shop I've ever done business with. Been going there for about 10 years now.

Highly recommend this shop for auto repair and serves. Gary is an honest, fair and friendly guy that takes care of his customers. Won't go anywhere else after my experience.

Three words: efficient, dedicated and affordable. Tyler's Auto is at the end of the cul-de-sac. The Mechanic had a great diagnostic approach to resolving my car issues. He test drove it at least 5 times until he felt all the issues were addressed and the tweaks were made. Just needed new spark plugs, I was done in 2 hours. I'll go back to them.

I went and got a smog done on my car and failed at another shop. They tried to get me to bring my car in the very next day for the necessary repairs which they said would cost over 400.00 plus dollars. I called a couple of other smog places to find out what I could do, they advised me to take the car to a smog technician for a diagnostic test to find out why it could have failed. Tyler's Automotive performed my diagnostic test. They were very thorough and found nothing wrong with my car. They referred me to a smog test only center, where my car passed with flying colors. Thank you Tyler for giving me such great service and saving me from a huge car repair bill. I have found my new go to guy for any future repair issues.

The guys at Tyler's are great! Especially Gary. He was super friendly and honest about everything he did.Their prices are extremely fair and they don't try to sell you anything you don't need. Best mechanic experience I've ever had. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I will never take my car anywhere else. I only trust Gary and the other guys at Tyler's! If you go here you won't be sorry!

Gary and crew are the best! They are honest, hard-working, and really nice. Half the time I go in not knowing at all what is wrong, trying my best to describe what is happening through absurd noises like "eeeeek". And they always find the problem and fix it quickly. The last time I went in, they said I needed a new something or other but instead of ordering a new one and installing it which would have been $300, he said first he was going to try taking apart and cleaning my old one. That fixed the problem and he didn't even charge me for it. Such great guys.

Tyler's Auto has provided us with excellent service for our Chrysler and Cadillac over the last three years. We went to to them when we first moved to the area and they have been so great to work with the whole time. Now we are relocating again and it will be sad to leave such great, dependable, fair and just nice mechanics. We highly recommend them!!!

reviewicon

Tyler's is great! Super honest service! They always give you all the facts and you know exactly what you're paying for. Used to go to dealer and pay three times as much. Not anymore since I found Tyler's!

reviewicon

I love this place. These guys are so honest! It's daunting to find a good mechanic and often times I've felt that my lack of knowledge about cars has set me up to get ripped off...that will absolutely NOT happen here. Good, honest work for a very fair price! Love them!

reviewicon

Tyler's is very honest and pragmatic about what needs to be done vs what is optional. We've been taking our Honda and Toyota there for years. Much more honest than the dealers, and good quality.

I was having trouble with AC on my truck. Several places "recharged" the system but would stop making cold air after a few weeks. A friend recommended Tyler's so I went there about a month ago. They did a great job, fixed the AC system and no trouble since. Very fair price as well. Nice, courteous team. Called back when they said they would. Give them a try.

Great guys, years of experience, they know exactly what they're doing. Brothers Gary and Dave run the place and have been helping me with any issues on my car for years. They do anything from diagnosing an odd sound, to complete engine replacements. I always recommend them to anyone in need.
