Avoid disaster by coming in and having your undercarriage checked out today. Call us at 805-497-4019 or visit us in Thousand Oaks, CA so we can schedule an appointment to ensure your car is in tip-top shape!

Our competitively priced undercar services include:

Anti-Lock Brakes
Anti-lock brakes prevent wheel lock-up when rapidly decelerating by automatically modulating the brake pressure during an emergency stop. With this system, the wheels are able to maintain traction with the road while braking. Failure of the anti-lock brakes could lead to an increase in the risks of multiple vehicle crashes and run-off road crashes. To avoid this, have your anti-lock brake system checked and repaired by experts. At Tyler's Auto Repair, we have anti-lock brake experts who will examine and repair your faulty ABS - keeping you safe.

Brake System Flush
Brake fluid is hygroscopic (it absorbs moisture). The absorbed moisture lowers the fluid's boiling point. It also corrodes the lines and cylinders. With the lowered boiling point, the brake fluid could boil during braking which makes you lose braking ability. Although this is an extreme scenario, it does happen in heavy braking. To reduce the effects of the absorbed moisture, auto manufacturers recommend that you have a brake flush done periodically. A brake system flush involves the replacement of used and contaminated fluid with fresh fluid. With Tyler's Auto Repair's quick lube services, you will have a brake system flush performed by brake experts. Call 805-497-4019 or visit Tyler's Auto Repair today.

Brakes
A brake is a mechanical device for slowing or stopping a vehicle (usually by means of friction). In short, a brake inhibits your car's motion. It lets you stop the car whenever and wherever you choose. Brakes are one of the most important parts of a motor vehicle. Without them, you would not be able to stop the car. If your vehicle's brakes are having issues, consider having them worked on. Brake experts at Tyler's Auto Repair can work on your car's brakes to ensure you have a safe drive.

Chassis
A chassis is the car's internal framework that supports the body and other parts like the wheels, engine, transmission, driveshaft, differential, and suspension. A weak or damaged chassis will translate to a weak car. To have a strong and properly working vehicle, have your car's chassis checked for defects. At Tyler's Auto Repair, there are experienced undercar service providers who can work on your chassis.

Differential Flush
The differential is a car part that compensates for the difference in travel distance between the inner wheels and outer wheels when the vehicle is turning. Due to the differential's position in most non-four-wheel-drive (FWD) vehicles (located at the rear and under the car), it does not get any of the star treatment the engine gets. The one thing that every car owner needs to know is that failure of the differential will mean failure of the car. To save the differential from failure, you need to have differential fluid changed every 30,000 to 50,000 miles. Changing the oil on the differential is as important as changing the car's engine oil. Although checking and changing differential oil is pretty easy, you need to visit an auto shop to get a comprehensive differential flush. For differential flush services, visit or call Tyler's Auto Repair in Thousand Oaks, CA 91360 today.

Differentials
The differential transfers the engine power to the wheels. One important function of the differential is to pass on power to the wheels while allowing them to rotate at different speeds - thus the name differential. When turning, the outer wheels travel a larger distance than the inner wheels do (also the front wheels travel a longer distance than the rear wheels). This means that all four wheels travel at different speeds during a turn and this is where the differential comes in to help. To make sure your vehicle's differentials are working properly, have them checked regularly. Contact Tyler's Auto Repair today for differentials examination and servicing.

Driveline
A driveline is a part of your motor vehicle that connects the engine and the transmission to the wheel axles. The driveline consists of the parts of the powertrain less the engine and transmission. Failure of the driveline means that the car would not move since energy cannot be transmitted from the engine to the wheel axles. Therefore, make sure that your car's driveline is regularly inspected and serviced. And, at Tyler's Auto Repair, you can have the driveline serviced by experts.

Exhaust
In a motor vehicle, an exhaust system is a piping used to guide exhaust fumes away from the engine - usually to the rear of the vehicle. A properly functioning exhaust system not only sounds better, it is better - for you, your car, and the environment. Tyler's Auto Repair has expert technicians to service your car's exhaust system.

Shocks
Shocks (or shock absorbers) are mechanical devices designed to smooth out rough roads. The devices do this by converting kinetic energy to another form of energy. Properly working shocks reduce the effect of traveling over rough ground, leading to improved ride quality and vehicle handling. When shocks develop problems, driving on poorly leveled roads becomes unpleasant, and your vehicle may sway when turning. To have your vehicle's shocks diagnosed and repaired, visit Tyler's Auto Repair today.

Struts
Much like a shock absorber (shocks), your car's struts provide a dampening effect as you travel over a road's surface. By absorbing the shock of the road, struts allow passengers to ride in a car without constant and uncomfortable motion. Struts work a bit differently than shocks in that they provide structural support for your car's suspension. This means that struts support your car's weight, unlike shocks which only regulate the speed at which the weight is transferred. Struts usually last around 50,000 or 60,000 miles. This is simply because the damping characteristics of the parts gradually deteriorate over time. Call Tyler's Auto Repair at 805-497-4019 if you have questions about the struts on your car. Our expert technicians will diagnose any problems and help you make an informed decision about repairs.

Tires
As tires get older, they lose traction and deteriorate from the inside out, increasing the likelihood of a tire bursting. This can cause a rapid loss of control of your vehicle. To have a better performing vehicle, you need to make sure the tires are in good condition. For all your tire needs, contact Tyler's Auto Repair today.

What Our Customers Are Saying

Best repair shop in town. Gary diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes. Dealership told me I would have to leave the vehicle for 3 hours. The dealership's high pressure Service Manager telling me it would probably be $800-$900. Tyler's fixed the simple problem for only $229!! Runs perfect now! Thanks Gary! I would give them a DEFINITE recommend!

Three words: efficient, dedicated and affordable. Tyler's Auto is at the end of the cul-de-sac. The Mechanic had a great diagnostic approach to resolving my car issues. He test drove it at least 5 times until he felt all the issues were addressed and the tweaks were made. Just needed new spark plugs, I was done in 2 hours. I'll go back to them.

I went and got a smog done on my car and failed at another shop. They tried to get me to bring my car in the very next day for the necessary repairs which they said would cost over 400.00 plus dollars. I called a couple of other smog places to find out what I could do, they advised me to take the car to a smog technician for a diagnostic test to find out why it could have failed. Tyler's Automotive performed my diagnostic test. They were very thorough and found nothing wrong with my car. They referred me to a smog test only center, where my car passed with flying colors. Thank you Tyler for giving me such great service and saving me from a huge car repair bill. I have found my new go to guy for any future repair issues.

Best mechanic experience I've ever had. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I will never take my car anywhere else. I only trust Gary and the other guys at Tyler's! If you go here you won't be sorry!

Gary and crew are the best! They are honest, hard-working, and really nice. Half the time I go in not knowing at all what is wrong, trying my best to describe what is happening through absurd noises like "eeeeek". And they always find the problem and fix it quickly. The last time I went in, they said I needed a new something or other but instead of ordering a new one and installing it which would have been $300, he said first he was going to try taking apart and cleaning my old one. That fixed the problem and he didn't even charge me for it. Such great guys.

Tyler's Auto has provided us with excellent service for our Chrysler and Cadillac over the last three years. We went to to them when we first moved to the area and they have been so great to work with the whole time. Now we are relocating again and it will be sad to leave such great, dependable, fair and just nice mechanics. We highly recommend them!!!

Tyler's is great! Super honest service! They always give you all the facts and you know exactly what you're paying for. Used to go to dealer and pay three times as much. Not anymore since I found Tyler's!

reviewicon

I love this place. These guys are so honest! It's daunting to find a good mechanic and often times I've felt that my lack of knowledge about cars has set me up to get ripped off...that will absolutely NOT happen here. Good, honest work for a very fair price! Love them!

Tyler's is very honest and pragmatic about what needs to be done vs what is optional. We've been taking our Honda and Toyota there for years. Much more honest than the dealers, and good quality.

I was having trouble with AC on my truck. Several places "recharged" the system but would stop making cold air after a few weeks. A friend recommended Tyler's so I went there about a month ago. They did a great job, fixed the AC system and no trouble since. Very fair price as well. Nice, courteous team. Called back when they said they would. Give them a try.

Great guys, years of experience, they know exactly what they're doing. Brothers Gary and Dave run the place and have been helping me with any issues on my car for years. They do anything from diagnosing an odd sound, to complete engine replacements. I always recommend them to anyone in need.
